confused This has probably been done before.., but what is the situation if you need to make a claim under a 'new' car 3 year manufacturing warranty? Sag is just over 12 months old and needs some mechanical (not engine!) work carried out.
Cheers

It really depends on your dealer. Some are supposedly still carrying out warranty work, while others are supposed to have stopped as they are not being paid! There was a thread on here last week that suggested the company which underwrites the TVR Approved warranty, was negotiating to take over the 3 year warranties, but an announcement was "a few weeks away." Personally, I would ask my supplying dealer before letting them have the car, especially if the warranty work was likely to be expensive. Hope this helps.

Hi maxx-waxx

Any further news on this - I'm in the process of buying a TVR from dealer. It's a 2005 Tuscan S, and was advised that warranty was current and will run till 2008 - however having paid deposit, I get a call saying that "actually there won't be any warranty as TVR have just said they won't be supporting them any longer", but for an extra £500 (discounted from £1400!!!) I could get something equating to a fully warranty from the dealer for 1 year.

Now I was not too impressed by this, so I asked when this has changed, and was told that it hadn't been announced yet, so my next question was "when is it going to be announced?" to which I got a "I don't know, I'll find out and let you know..."

Have I found a dodgy dealer or is is there any update on TVR warranties???

Is the dealer a TVR main dealer? Because what you are reporting goes against everything else that TVR have been saying.

Yes - hence my concern... This seemed like a complete u-turn on what's been said so far - could of course just be a salesman trying to get more cash out of me????

Should be speaking to them again today - will post events as they happen...

Call TVR

0845 0031377

There is still a statement on the website saying all warranties are being honoured and I know they were confirming that last week.

UPDATE:

Ok just spoken to TVR and they have said that all warranties are being honoured, and the dealer in question is fully aware of that and furthermore - the dealer in question has been doing warranty work during the last couple of months!!!! furious

Seems like salesman trying it on... rage

So they are going to "have a word" with the dealer in question?

Thought first I'd chat to dealer and see if there has been a "mis-understanding", I will let them know I've spoken to TVR who were suprised by their attitude to warranty, and see what they have to say about it...

Also while I'm at it TVR confirmed the autoprotect rumour posted above - said hoped to have it completed and announced by the end of the month...

There is doing warranty work.....

And being paid for doing warranty work.....

With the administrator buying and selling the company, perhaps TVR may have been a bit behind in actually paying for the work done in the last 2 months....

Of course now that tvr have confirmed to you that it is honoured, they will have of course be uptodate now in payments to the dealers.

True enough and a fair point... however not quite the same as saying the TVR are no longer honouring warranties...

hopefully find out what the score is later...

Situation is still the same, apparently. Spoke with autoprotect, and theyre saying they are still waiting for tvr to give them the go ahead. So i suppose it could be a few days, weeks or months

Alan,

At the moment I don't really know - but I don't think so - was it done by a main dealer? and have you kept paperwork? you may be able to claim it back.
