MP3 Tags

Just a question about MP3 Tags, how do you lot deal with them. I've got 590 albums in a folder structure such as D:\MP3s\Albums\Artist - Album\Tracks.mp3. I've also got a folder D:\MP3s\Tracks\Artist - Title\tracks.mp3.

I've spent the last couple of days playing around with MP3 tags and sorting them out as i'm fed up with duplicates and random artists/albums/tracks cropping up in media player. i used a program called MP3Tag v2.37 that i found online and all seemed to be well. I was modifying tags in batches and it was great.

Today I find not a huge amount has changed in Media player as the prog I was using didnt show tags such as 'album artist' or 'composer' and media player seems to pick up details from these as well.

Is there an easier way of tidying this, or is it something that takes ages but it ultimately worth it.

Also, does anyone know of a site that catagorises albums by genre, or is this simply a field of your own opinion as it seems to be so far.

I use ID3 tagIT, it makes getting the track name and artist from file names stupidly easy, even when it's a Various Artists album.

I use musicbrainz tagger - seems pretty good.

Media Tagger from download.com works for me, especially being able to set the tags from the filename and vice versa
