Is it the clutch?

Yesterday I showed a potential buyer round the car, went for a test drive, the car was going great. Today went to take her out for fuel and can't get her into gear. At the last service the clutch was inspected to make sure all ok, that was 2k ago. My wife said that she wants me to keep the car because its great, I think she may change her mind tonight when I tell her the news. Any ideas.

Does it feel normal? If yes then suspect the fingers, they just go and there is nothing that can be done.

If the pedal is spongy then slave or master, master - cheap, slave - expensive.

When pushing in the pedal it makes a noise but does'n't feel any different. I have looked at the fluid levels and they are fine.

Suspect the fingers then,

it could also be the release bearing - mine was the same but what happened in the end is the bearing fails totally and the slave ended up snapping off each and every finger off the clutch plate. Best get it stripped and looked at asap!

Another clue is...Was the clutch fluid clean> If the Slave/Master seals go the clutch fluid will have 'black stuff' in it.
