Boxster S sat nav cd stuck

the display on my pcm has gone dark but you can see it if you shine a torch on it and the sat nav disc is stuck. I took it in to Porsche today and they said it needed to be replaced, I've got the telephone and radio working now, the only things not working are the light on the display and the sat nav cause the disc is stuck, ANY IDEAS?

Sorry I can't give you much specific. But my experience from BMWs is it can often be fixed just by getting the CD out, be it multi-changers, single CD players or Sat navs (Think very carefully before you put the same CD in again). Also main dealers very often recommend replacement when it's not neccesary. Is you car still under warranty ?

Unfortunately I don't have any Porsche specific info on how to try and get it out, hopefully someone around here does.

On some cars pulling the right fuse(s) and putting them back in again sometimes works as it resets the sat nav system. It will probably cause you a lot of other problems though ...

have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while and then reconnecting and hoping the system will reset. Remember when reconnecting you need your keys in the ignition at position 2 or the alarm will sound.
