Does anyone have any experience of a plan insurance...

I know they are sponsors/advertisers on this site but are they any good when it comes to making claims?
They have given me a good quote and I am seriously considering...

They're a broker, not an insurer, so your question is a bit moot as far as claims are concerned as it comes down to the underwriter.

However, as brokers go they were always very good when I used them but that was about 15 years ago mind.

I have used them for my first year's TVR insurance.
Guys there seem very helpful and knowledgeable, and their quote was the best.
So much so, my BMW is insured through them now too!!
Oh, and the house buildings/contents....

(The discounts keep coming in!)

Not had a claim yet, but having the stone chip on the windscreen repaired tomorrow.

Oh, and definitely no track days covered by my insurance underwriter (GroupAma)

Hope this helps
Mike

Thanks Guys
Groupama is who they are recommending its a good quote but quite a high excess £500 they have also quoted for another policy for the other car a separate policy for the wife with no NCB. (the TVR is going to make us a two car family for the first time) Current insurer has quoted £350 higher.

Indeed - Groupama are the company with A-Plan. I had to make a claim for some vandalism a few weeks ago. Both A-Plan and Groupama were outstanding in their efficiency. They were on the case straight away, did what they said they'd do, and made it a very hassle free experience to get my car back to looking like new again, thanks to a re-spray at Racing Green.

Highly recommend them.

I'm with them for the Tiv, plus they were very cheap on the commercial insurance for the works van.

I got hit by a third party last year, and A plan started the claim off for me, but the third party took over.

So far, so good.

Luca, Did you request 'complete respray as colours will not match' and have any hassle, or just have the damaged panels sprayed and blended in?

I left it entirely in the hands of Racing Green who disussed the issues with Groupama's assessor who went out beforehand....so I'm not entirely sure what was agreed. However...the finished result is stunning with all the bits changing colour at the same time, by the same amount as the suns reflects off it - about as technical as I'll get on this hehe.

Very happy with Groupama and A-Plan, and very happy with Racing Green's bodyshop and painting.

Great to hear you had a result out of this. I'm with A-plan too, so it's good to know that when it counts they (and their underwriters) support you.

Steve.

Not insured yet, but done plenty of research, and for me too (lots of no claims, 30 y/o) they are about the best I can find.

Reassuring to hear there's good first-hand experience out there too.

They do breakdown cover for another £45 (I think, possibly £65) which included European cover. Any experience with that? I'm assuming its a pre-requisite with a Cerb - no offence intended of course.

I've just gone with A plan for the first time previously with Tescos for 2 years with the Tam, so its reassuring to hear the good reports.
Also noticed that European cover not included normally get 30 days per annum and thought it was standard these days with the EU and all that?
Anyway quite a bit cheaper than previously. £480 with 6000 mpa/ protected ncb/legal cover.

When I got my Aplan quote, they also offered a 90 day Green card, for whenever you want it.

Perhaps there was a special offer on scratchchin

I am with A-Plan. I put all my no claims bonus on the Tiv and they found me an insurer who automatically gave 3 years no claims on my daily runaround. The combined cost of both was less than I was previously paying on an S2000.

They were also fantastic when I got pulled by the cop and had to produce documents at the station. I couldn't find the insurance certificate, contacted A-plan and had another one the very next day.

Good service. thumbup
