Tomtom RDS-TMC traffic receiver

Just bought a Tomtom RDS-TMC traffic receiver...
Can get a signal near home in Sheffield..
But...
No signal at all between Sheffield > Derby > Nottingham (M1 and A38/A61)
And Sheffield > Manchester (cross country and back over Woodhead)
Anybody else had this problem, or have I got a duff one..?

Seems that most are duff and need replacing - but you will need to follow the process to get a replacement. There will be a big fall-out from this one I think. TomTom are the biggest and europe and have cocked up a couple of times, consumers will not stand for this and will start to desert the brand if they are not careful....
