The door buttons and boot hinges are starting to get a but tarnished on my 96 Chim. Does anyone know whats the best thing to use to bring them back to shinyness. I have tried normal autoglym that I use on the rest of the car but doesnt do much.

Any kind of metal/chrome polish should work alright for removing the tarnish; for 'before' and 'after' cleaning one might want to use the kind of stainless steel cleaner used for kitchen appliances et al...

very fine wet 'n' dry (1200 or 2000 grit) and solvol autosol, lots of elbow grease and you will get a mirror finish. Also use it on your swirll pot and any other ally things in the engine bay for that added bling factor....hehe

They are laquered I believe and I used 1200 grade wet or dry and metal polish from The Polishing Company and then put Turtle Wax Extreme over it to stop it re-tarnishing. I also use this polish on wheels.
