OPC Warranty Question
Discussion
Im looking at buying a 2003 Boxster S with 30,000 miles on it. This particular car still has a few months left on its OPC warranty.
Im sorry if this question has been asked before, but has anyone got any idea what sort of money I would be looking at for renewing the warranty on this car. I can't find any information on how the warranty premiums are calculated.
I was was going to chance it and use a local independant for any servicing and repair work, or if I buy a car out of warranty possibly invest in the Hartech warranty/service plan. As this car already is within the OPC scheme im just waying up the costs to stay in it. I know you have to stick with OPC for any work or servicing to maintain it so they pull a bit back from you there. I just dont know what the actual warranty itself annually costs or how the premium increases as the car ages.

I think £895, not sure how much Hartechs is? They seem to be the only two worth anything if you go by this forum as a few guys have been shafted with so called Gold & Platinum warranties from various other companies.
Sounds about right and as for Hartechs have a look at their site. IIRC the cost is less than you would pay for the service and pads alone at an OPC
The Hartech details are all on the website, im also considering an obviously much older 996 as they sit at similar money and im only using the car 5000 miles per year.
For the 996 the Hartech scheme is by far the best even though im miles away its worth taking the time and travelling. But for a Boxster already in the OPC scheme im as well sticking with that and saving the travelling and hanging around. For a Boxster not in the scheme I would have to decide wheather to have it inspected and put back into OPC, go the Hartech route or chance my arm warranty free and just use my local indie for service and repairs.

I may be wrong, i'm sure someone will correct me, but i don't think you have to stick with OPC servicing or have to use them for any work carried out, for the OPC warranty to still be valid.
as far as i know you just need to make sure the work is carried out using official Porsche parts, so you could still get your servicing etc done at Hartech
