Where can i get 993 sports seats?
Discussion
Hi guys,
I am trying to get hold of some sports seats as fitted to the 993, ideally with heating but that's less important, and ideally in Marble grey.
I've enquired at porsch-apart and they have sports seats in Classic grey and i'm tempted to go for those, and i always watch ebay for these kinds of things, but can anyone suggest anywhere else that i might find such seats?
Thanks.
VS.

Pete - Prestige Salvage in Leeds had some black ones in a few weeks back when I checked.....they often have other colours.
You could also try:
Porscehapart
Jasmine
Douglas valley breakers
And then in Europe:
FVD
Van Zweeden
And of course keep an eye on everybody's favourite - ebay (Though buying and selling on there seems to be getting more dangerous every week - but that's another story).

Pete, you could always put a wanted ad here or on PCGB.....I missed a few sets of wheels on Ebay when they were nabbed in the dying seconds.....I put a couple of wanted ads around....a very nice chap had a set he wasn't using, I was happy with the purchase price..he even met me 1/2 way to pick up.....much more amiable than the Ebay experience.
I have some Marble Grey hard back sports seats that I removed from my 993 at 58,000 miles. Don't get your hopes up too high, because my intention was to keep them to sell with the car when the time eventually comes. But if you'd like to make me an offer I'll consider it. I think I'm fairly close to you. I'm in Camberley.
My first post. I hope I don't become addicted. I had to give up the SELOC forum all together because I couldn't get any work done.

Im very interested in them
What's the difference in monetary secondhand value between the standard/comfort seats and the hard backed sports seats?
I've got some marble grey hard back sports seats that I MAY be interested in SWAPPING for some standard/comfort seats (I'm told that the latter will go back further and give me more legroom - is this right?).
They'd need to be in good nick though and you'd need to organise the actual exchange and fitting of the seats (because I'm cr*p at the practical stuff).
Mine have done around 70k miles.

VSW - I live in Dorking and commute to Wimbledon.
From what you say, it sounds like I should really be making a little on the trade too. Or selling my seats and then buying cheaper standard seats.
I'm not out to screw anyone so just wondered what you, or anyone else in the know, might consider a fair deal.

VS, suspect those are the seats I looked at, steep at £620 plus shipping and VAT, and also in terrible condition. As you know from thread yesterday, eBay paid off for me - the seats were misadvertised as simply 'Porsche Sports Seats' so presume my lack of competition was down to all those searching on '996 seats' or 'Boxster seats' being filtered out. So at the risk of stating the obvious, make sure you search on simply 'Porsche seats' to maximise your opportunity. I got mine for £299, and with a full refurb and paint came in about £540 all in.
Will post some pics up this weekend, and for what its worth the support and comfort the seats offer does not disappoint. Even the GF loves them as they will be easier to sleep in for the midnight cross-continent style runs we frequently do.
