Ground clearance

I am not trying to be flippant but th eangle of the ramp can vary depending on the level of the tide.
On occasions I have driven down the concrete and then abrubtly back up when joining the metal ramp on the ferry. I guess it also depends on the shore side ramp as well.
Must admit to not having tried it with the Chimaera, so my input may be useless other than putting your post up the page again !

Been on the ferry several times and never had a problem. There are a LOT lower things on the ferry at Le Mans time and I've been very surprised at (a) they get them on in the first place (b) the lengths the ferry loaders will go to to look make sure your P&J doesn't ground. They've got mats and stuff to make the angle a bit better too.
Your approach angle can also make a big difference. Go at an acute angle to get one of your wheels on quickly will help.

I've never had a problem with mine. It might be worth calling the ferry company and explaining your car is low - they may be able to sort you out on the lower deck (fewer ramps to negotiate)...
I agree - have taken mine before and again this year , just fore warn them and they will always find a way , should there be a problem , but most likely not.
