Audi Key - Coding / re-syncing
Discussion
Hello All,
I purchased an Audi Key which is exactly the same as the one I have got and use.
The key is the same frquency etc etc etc.
The thing is that it only has a blank blade.
Can I just take the blade from the current key to replace the blank in the new key. After this can I follow the instruction to synchronise the key to the car as it says in the manual.
OR....it this going to need Coding from an Audi dealer?

blade will swap to the new key, just push out the pin.. you will then be able to unlock the door and start the car but the imobiliser will cut the engine after a few seconds.. It will need to go into Audi to have the key coded in ...
I know of a few of my customers have been told by the dealers that they cant code a 2nd hand key fob and have ended up buying a new one and Its not cheap

immobiliser shows orange warning and cuts engine while driving. Every journey. Restart is an instant solution. I thought of getting a copy of key & fob. I asked Audi directly first. They showed all three components (reader coil, 2 new keys) and something I can't remember but totalling £700 and was surprised I had the option to turn down the offer. 5 days in there and let me drive away with equal problem. No invoice. Big surprise. Maybe a 3rd party copy of the key could solve the matter for £40
