Can anyone recommend a specialist to rebuild my T5 gearbox (4 litre Chimaera '99). Alternatively, I may look to pick up a decent secondhand one.
Many thanks

I spoke to a specialist in Hemel Hempstead about the gearbox on my last car. They seemed very good. I can dig the name out if you want.

I also know of a gearbox specialist in Leatherhead, if that's any nearer to you.

What's the problem with yours?

Your local dealer should be able to sort it.

Friend of mine lost 5th on his Cerbera, and Dream Machines sorted it for semi-sensible money (can't remember exact amount, but certaily less than £700)....

As suggested by xain - Hardy Engineering at Leatherhead, Surrey would be my first stop. www.hardyengineering.co.uk

Thanks for the responses - I'll give Hardy engineeering a call. My problem is that the box lost its oil (drain plug - not my fault!) and ran for about 150 miles cross country mixed driving without a lot of the slippery stuff in it. It was left to cool down (was very hot !), and refilled (with new drain plug)and has been OK for 6k although is now starting to whine particularly loudly in 1st, 2nd and 3rd with the syncros feeling very notchy when changing. Increasing noise when in neutral as well - so it's time for a change out/rebuild.
