No! Still want the switch option so I'll go for the cut out removal mod, which other PHr's posted.

Porsche Sports Exhaust

www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/personalisation/tequipment/911-996/sport/?focus=sportabgasanlage-911-996-sport&hideintro=true

Plenty of previous threads on it with some links to 'before' and 'after' videos etc.

Not entirely sure if this is relevant to your question, but I don't think the tail pipes themselves get replaced.

East london - the whole thing (i.e. not just the pipes) looks just as minging as before!

Sounds right though

Now you need to sort the cut out and get some new tail pipes from Porsche Design. I went for the twin turbo look ones from Dansk, but they do another set of oval ones that are bigger than stock that look good too. The old ones look naff IMO.

Might go for the twin look ones eventually. Have to give the old credit card time to recover from the PSE first though

Thought so, but couldn't work out what the 'switch' reference was about? It's not an active exhaust system is it?

And second daft question (remember, I'm a 996 newbie) are the tailpipes seperate from the actual system? Read a few things that seem to suggest this.

Personally prefer the look of the large oval pipe myself. Twin ones, atleast by porsche anyway, were 'fake' twins which kind of spoiled the look for me

Guys.

if you have got an old set of tail pipes on the car that are looking a little tired, give them a buff up with some t-cut. it works a treat on the chrome
