How do you claen the butterfly, it only goes one way doesn't it so how do you get to the other edge?
What do you use to clean it?
Is this the sort of thing that should be done at a service?

Hey Bondy,
Take off the intake pipe from the intercooler to the engine, get someone to open the throttle wide open and I use a toothbrush and carb cleaner (and rag). Try not to spray too much into the engine although it won't harm it, it will start badly and run rough for a few seconds.
I don't know anyone who does this on service, this job is worth doing on any car with idling faults (or if you're bored on a Sunday!).

Current Saturday jobs are:
Reposition BOV vac closer to throttle body, fit new fan switch and now clean throttle butterfly.
Oh and probably clean the car. (weekends looking good down here).
