After mucho thinking I have decided that a TUSCAN "S" is the one for me....

The biggie question is should I buy new or nearly new. I have found the "S" quite hard to find.

My problem is (if you can call it a problem) I live in Spain and I intend to export the car. I have seen from the Forums that many of the cars have some problems, I am not too worried about these as I have had these expeirences in the past, but am I better off buying a nearly new that where the problems will have been sorted or a new where they are to be discovered???

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to have a LHD version, you have to order a new one, no second hand ones are available.

You also have to think about that the car has to meet the EU emission rules.

I've had my new Tuscan S since 1st March and so far....fingers crossed...I have had no probs with it.

Clearly Tuscan reliability improves over the years and after 3 years I think they now have got it spot on for the Tuscan.

In saying that, you have to be prepared that when owning a TVR you should expect niggles every now and then. This isn't just a TVR problem though, any sports car hand made will always have its problems at some point.

So 'in my opinion' and if you can afford it, I would buy new.

I have spoken to Hawthorns and they have told me that I couldl expect the lead time for a new lhd would be July.....without sounding more stupid does that mean delivery in July or they would start to manufacture in July???? plus 5% surcharge for lhd.

I am note sure whether to buy a lhd or rhd, I know that dricing on the continent in a rhd is a pain but should I wish to resell in the future it there is probably more market in the UK than Spain. Any views appreciated.

As mentioned before, be careful with buying the car without the paperwork which is necessary to make it roadlegal on the continent, otherwise you won't get it registrated.

PS: Delivery time is 10-12 weeks for the LHD version !

Thanks for the advice Christof. Do you know of any particular problems or have you experience in exporting a TVR to Germany? Have you purchased your T350 in lhd or rhd?

I've ordered RHD, as LHD is not available on the T350.

I'm now involved in the TVR business here in Germany and do all the sales stuff and all the work for getting the cars registrated over here.

It's no problem to get the registrated in Spain once you've got the german paperwork (KFZ-Brief).

So if you are planning to go for a new beastie keep in touch with me and I can order a car for you and sort out all the paperwork for getting it registrated in Spain.
