Hi
My chim 400 is currently running fine using NGK R BPR6ES plugs.
However they have been in for some time and I feel they should be changed.
I'm minded to replace like for like, but have been told it should have NGK B7CS plugs.
What are peoples views on this and what is the differance between the two.
Any advice would be helpfull.
thanks

That is a colder plug for Land Rovers IIRC.

The ones most of us use are ngk B7ECS I believe.

B7ECS are the widely recommended ones. The BPR6 ones you quoted are one grade hotter and are resistive, also have a slightly different nose profile. Being hotter they will be slightly more resistant to fouling under very gentle use. They may suffer overheating problems sooner in a high performane engine though. They sound similar to the ones that used to be recommended back in the wedge days. B7ECS is a very safe bet but if you're happy with the ones you have there's nothing wrong with sticking with them.

I've always run BP7ES on mine, both as std and in modded form, and found no problems at any time.I don't understand why TVR are the only(afaik) RV8 user to recommend the B7ECS type, when so many other sources for the RV8 just use std type plugsconfused.Hell of a difference in price, for no perceiveable difference in performance.

I decided to do a between-service change and got B7ECS for £2.20 each from Partco..... hardly breaks the bank!

Spot on,cant think what TVR were playing at,NGK have a very wide heat range, the BP7ES also as a more extended tip(bonus)

At my local factor all the Landy plugs cost just about the same anyway? The little Rover Kseries ones cost more for just 4 ~ glad I killed it

Sounds like you need to shop around - nothing like proper motor factors IMO.
