Got a small problem this morning, a couple of customers need to leave mail on a pop server for X days, and for some unknown reason their support company is refusing to support them and its landed on my lap.

Easier said than done as I don't have Outlook, and the customers have a mixture of Outlook 2003 installs and Outlook 2000 installs. I can find plenty of notes for Express but not Outlook.

Could someone just tell me what to click to get to the option. I know what the option probably says, just don't know how to get there.

Sigh.

Thanks in advance.

Tools -> Email accounts

Click View or change

Select the server from the list and click Change

Click the more settings button

Click the advanced tab, it's down the bottom.

(2003 by the way)

Many thanks for that. Its kinda where i thought it might be, but having to teach some airhead on the phone where it might be has become a real pain. Anyway, those screen shots are a real life saver.

previous conversations where I've been guessing the screens have gone something like:

"now click on the OK button"

"i cant see an OK button"

"erm its in the bottom right somewhere"

"no, its not there"

"i'm sure it should be" (not really sure as I'm guessing)

long pause as airhead gets airhead2, airhead2 is scracthing her head, so they get the office bright one, the blonde.

"no we still can't see it"

and after much searching of the whole screen..

"we've found it!!!" to much joy and excitement. only 10 more screens to go, and 6 more offices to talk through this. kill me, kill me now.
