Hi Chaps,

I've had my 4200GT for a few months now, and am loving driving her. A slight problem-ette has occured however, so I thought I would pick your collective brains before a trip to the dealer...

Over the last few weeks the ventilation system has been taking longer and longer to 'wake up' after starting the car (i.e. display on screen dimmed and not responsive to any change in the controls). It was taking a couple of minutes to work, then ten, then half an hour, and now it seems to have packed up completely! I suspect it may have something to do with the outside temp gauge as the green dash display is also blank.

Any ideas? Has anyone else come across this?

When ecu's sense low voltage they shut down various systems to keep them from burning out. Get it checked out. Battery/Alternator/instrument realys.

I had exactly the same problem! the temp/air con part of the sat nav would stay at 0"c for ages and finally wake up! A couple of things to check:

1. Look under the passanger footwell for the fuses. Mine initially had a blown fuse

2. Could be short-circuiting behind the panel. This was the final diagnosis of my prob! Luckily its covered warranty, the dash had to ripped apart and it was found that one of the dials/knobs was shorting out the system. Had a replacemenrt panel placed (ie. the 3 knobs) to fix the problem.

Had the work done by Maranello, cost was approx 600!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the replies guys - I'll check the battery and fuses, but I suspect the problem may lie elsewhere. Good old Italian electrics eh!
