My Bro's K1 1000 Goldwing of 1976 vintage has had to be garaged, just as the sun starts to shine. The clutch lifter plate has broken, as in snapped in half. Honda GB informs him that the part is obsolete and we cannot track down this item at all. Waiting to hear from the Goldwing club but not holding breath. Any offers or leads please.

Check out ebay.com (the US version rather than the UK one) There are several GL1000 clutch items which may well do what you want.

Is the lifter plate the six spiggoted outer plate? They're usually made of a horrible monkey metal and are a sod for even the best welders to repair. However if the worst comes to the worst you could use the original as a pattern and get one cast. Not easy, but possible.
