I have recently bought a Garmin Nuvi 310 Deluxe. We are planning a trip to Luxembourg, the Nurbugring and Belgium at Easter and I have planned some routes using the MapSource software that came with the SatNav. I have transferred the routes to the device but I dont know how to access them on the Garmin unit.

If I go "Where to" then "My Locations" then "Favourites", I can see each waypoint but I can't find the actual routes. Can someone please help?

Unfortunately, you can't copy routes - only the waypoints.

Is it possible to plan routes on a TomTom? I'm thinking about getting a refund on the Garmin now and buying the TomTom One Europe.

You can use 'Itinerary planning' on the TT and store the file under whatever name you choose. You can mail the .itn files for someone else to use.

How do you think I did the route to cheddar Colin!!??
That took in some awesome roads and not the direct ones, and was all found, done, recorded and passed on to others courtesy of my TomTom

Halfords have contacted Garmin who advised them that you CAN plan a route on a Garmin SatNav (or at least on the nuvi 310). They're supposed to be emailing me instructions on how to do so but I've yet to receive them. Why they don't include these in the box is anyone's guess.

They exchanged my Garmin Nuvi 310 Deluxe for the TomTom One Europe, a case and a £5 voucher.

Excellent customer service, well done Halfords.

I have a 660 and love it, but you don't get Mapquest with it... So i guess i need to buy a copy to be able to plan my routes.

I had the 310 Deluxe. It did not come with the Mapquest software discussed in your link. The 310 came with MapSource software which would allow you to plan a route but would only transfer the waypoints to the Unit.
