Getting my photos back from Flickr?

I seem to remember someone putting something together using the Flickr API to do this, but of course can't find it now... maybe scan through the community forums when this was originally proposed a few months back?
Just purely out of curiosity: why are you so bothered by having a Yahoo ID? I have signed on once with mine when I first started using Flickr and haven't had to ever since. In fact, I can't even remember the password - it's in an e-mail somewhere! I don't use Yahoo e-mail and Flickr send all "new photo" messages to my Gmail account.

Because I choose not to based on my opinion of Yahoo. They are have been notorious for their abuse of privacy, lax attitude to security and their appetite for data mining. They even gave us the wonderful and ubiquitous Geocities!
I don't really care if Flickr decide to sell to them for financial gain, fair play to them, but I just don't see the need to have to sign in only with a Yahoo ID - unless Yahoo explicitly told them that that how it has to be from now on. There's no technical reason for it as far as I can see.
If, on discovering Flickr back in the day, one of the terms of joining was that you had to have a Yahoo mail account, I wouldn't have signed up. So forcing one on me now just isn't going to slide.
