I wrote a crossed number seven on a post-it note (being yellow it worked rather well) and stuck it on my office PC the Monday after he passed away...was pleased when a colleague recognised the gesture.

Has anyone read the biography that came out after he died? I've seen the paperback in a local bargain bookshop and wondered if it was a good read rather than a rush-job?

if you'v not read the biography writen just after his death,
read it.
I read it in a day once whilst walking along the front at Newquay never noticed the rocks and cliffs I was climbing ( 1 handed ) such was the quality of the read, only stopped wheen I realised I had been walking for 5 hours.

We were offered his motor home, BIG YANK THING in 1978 he wanted £14k, or £7 k and a range rover!!! my dad declined.

Which biography? I think there is a couple. I've got the one by Stuart Barker.

I watched Barry at Goodwood in 2002. I dont mind admitting I had a lump in my throat when he did his lap of honour after the race as deep down we all knew that was the last time we would ever see him again.

Sure enough he passed away 6 months later. RIP
