Typical mainstream media - only report an F1 story when there's a race on...
This very point was covered by Mark Hughes in Autosport weeks ago, after Moseley had given a speech (at BMW IIRC) and indeed it is a worry.
However, I suspect there may be an element of political manoeuvring to keep the manufacturers happy for now. I certainly hope it doesn't get agreed during a row over something else (in the favoured Max style), though.

He's learnt plenty from Labour in that respect...introduce an extreme, wholly unpalatable proposition, to which everyone objects furiously. Then bring in the toned down measure you actually wanted, which everyone accepts as a compromise. Simple, but effective.
I hope against all hope that this never happens in any form, or to any extent.
Hasn't this been F1's problem for the past 15 to 20 years? Excess technology - reducing input from driver?
They left me behind a few years ago. No doubt I'll keep an eye on what's happening in the F1 world during the upcoming season but the gung-ho enthusiasm I once possessed has long since faded.

Disturbing stuff.
A move in this direction would remove all the adrenalin-pumped action of the wheel-to-wheel racing we take for granted in F1 today. If they remove the ducking, diving and last minute overtakes that we see so often currently, thanks to the technology already in the sport, it will be a sad day indeed.
Hopefully this wont lead to this great sport becoming just a ventriloquist puppet with Mosley's hand up its arse to manipulate it, speaking and thinking for it, unable to do anything off its own back.

This may sound extreme but it IS the way the manufacturers want it.
F1 is dominated by car makers and not private teams these days and these manufacturers only exist for 1 reason - to sell more cars.
Therefore, anything that might hinder the performance of their race car (like a driver) should be eliminated.
They DON'T care about sport.
They DON'T care about F1 being a contest between drivers.
Fortunately, we aren't there yet and with better racing last year than for a long time, this year promises to be the most exciting for a long time.
Plus, if it ever gets really bad there's always Moto GP,
you'll never get a computer controlled bike round corners as fast as Rossi no matter how many computers are working it.

The circuit will start from Centraal Station, head off down Damrak, and on to Wetering Circuit before making a right, to Leidsplein, and then right up yumping over some canal bridges back up through Spui,and onto the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwaal back to Centraal Station to complete the lap.
All cars to be fitted with a bell, and pantograph to refuel en-route around the lap.
Oh yes, and all cars will be painted white & blue.
