Hello Ultima drivers,

I just finished my Ultima GTR and one front tyre is damaged.
I found out that the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-Fiorano are not longer built.
I'm looking for a replacement in the same sizes.
Not many tyres are available in 245/35 R18 and 335/30 R18.
I found Pirelli PZero Corsa 245/35 Direzionale and Pirelli PZero Corsa 335/30 Asimmetrico.
-> Does anyone here tried these tyres?
-> What else can be recommended?

As far as I'm aware the tyres are still available. You may have difficulty getting them as they are not commonly used. May be expensive shipping them over but I'm sure the factory will be able to supply you.

The P-Zeros are a pretty good tyre as an alternative though?

cant speak about the fronts so not much help, but the Ultima rears are the sames as Viper sizes there's a few other options, grippy Khumo's and Toyos 888 which are more track/dry weather related and Michelin Pilot Sports, you could probably get the fronts too i guess with these manufacturers. I've tried the 335 P-Zeros a couple of years ago and cant say i liked them that much

(Having said that i've a couple of brand new stickered 335 Pilots for sale)

I'm now on Michelin pilot sport PS2.
Also available are Pilot sport cup.

I put the PS2 on the rims also. (Of course, mine have not been on the road yet.) I think Craig has these, too.

The Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 are difficult to order in Germany.
In some areas Germany is a little bit a thirld world country.

I got an offer for Michelin Piot Sport C1.

-> Does anyone now what's the difference between Michelin Piot Sport C1 and Michelin Piot Sport PS2?

If you usually drive the car on dry conditions or for trackdays try the KUMHO ECSTA V700........FANTASTIC !!!

I see the V70A Ecsta in our sizes on Kumho's website but the V700 is called the Vicoracer and doesn't seem to fit our rears.

But the V70A look the DBs!!

Kumos are indeed available in the correct sizes and after a few calls today, I have managed to establish the correct size availability for the rears in a Toyo 888 and although a 245/35X18 is not available, they do offer a 225/40X18 and recomend that it is fitted to a rim with a maximum width of 9" ( just about right! ). The biggest difference is the price with the Toyo rears coming out at £100 each more than the Kumos although fronts are similarly priced in either make. The Kumos are also available in Hard and Medium compounds. It wont be untill August but I am planing on trying the Kumos and will report on their performance on track.

i have 235 40 18 avons on the monaro

so that size should be easy to source 90 quid from camskill

Kuhmo V70 medium are a great track tyre.
They are much softer than the Goodyear and they are whole lot better on track. I would question them purely as a road tyre due to their wear rate. They are also effectively a shaved tyre as they only come with about 4mm of tread from new.
I would guess you will be changing them after as little as 1 or 2000 miles - especially if you do like to put the Ultima through its paces.

Chewy, in your considered opinion, do you think that it would be reasonable to expect a set of the above to last for two days at Spa, the first day will not be that severe but the second day will ?

I'm sure the Kuhmo will comfortably last for that. B1ECC is probably the best person to comment as he has been using them exclusively for track days including Spa.
Last year there was a supply problem in the UK and Kuhmo had to fly a set in from Germany for me as I needed them urgently. Hopefully the supply issue has been resolved now but at the time they had no plans to even produce any of the rears due to the limited demand.

Bare in mind that Spa can be a very wet place, Wayne. If you are considering a semi-slick tyre for there, make sure you take spare rims with wet weather tyres too, or you may find yourself restricted to pitlane for two days!! Not fun. I'm doing Spa at the end of May in my CSL and will hopefully be able to run on Pilot Sport Cups (semi-slick) but will definitely be taking my Pilot Sport 2s with as well, to cater for wet weather.
