Hello from an interloper...

A friend of mine is on his way up to sunny Bradford to take a look at a 996 Turbo and he's asked me to try to track down the company that performed the last, major service on the car last year. It's stamped in the service history as "JTS Majestic Car Specialists" or something similar. Does anyone recognise the company name? Any experiences of them?

Thanks all.

Why would anyone service a TT at 'unheard of, little car place in Bradford' - unless of course the mechanic there is quite good. It is possible.

Thanks for posting this for me Lex.

I went to look at the car and it is absolutely spot on. I mean spot on. Everything ties up. Mileage, everything. Only thing is this stupid place where he had the last MAJOR service done.

JTS Classic Cars is what the stamp says.
The guy said it is a place which has ex-Porsche mechanics working there. It all sounds a bit dubious but other than this one indiscretion the car is mint. I have checked all the rest of the history with OPC and Strasse and it tallies up.

Should I be worried??? I am getting a 111-point check done with OPC of course.

See that is what I thought.
But here is the story: He doesn't know where it is. It should be in the file, which of course it wasn't. He thinks he might have given it to his accountant to claim the tax back.

The other thing is, he seems like a chap who has plenty of money, so I am thinking why would he miss a service and make one up. It just all seems a bit strange.

I drove the car and it seems fine. Drives well, really tight. I am having the OPC check done, surely that would bring out any skeletons .....

Money dont mean he's not hiding it, if he 'works' alot its more than likely he's forgot, then got it done at a regular garage, again not a killer if basics done inc plugs etc, I'd factor in £1200 odd to get it put through again..

Hello everyone, new member here and looking to buy a 996 in the near future. Anyway, the point of this first post is that I live in Bradford and have never heard of the place you mentioned. Does the service stamp not include a phone number as is usual.
Also, being well off doesn't mean you wont try and save a grand or so on a service which is probably what a major service would cost on a TT. If it gets through the 111 pont check though you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

If the car gets through the inspection and I do come back to collect it, then I will hold you to that
