Can't get much better than that for pampering and Luxury. Very Very pricey though.

Had looked at going there, not sure whether it offers that much over other 5 star places relative to the extra cost, not being cheap but like value for money etc etc
IMHO Pattaya is a toilet and the reputation is all Sex.
Phuket is beautiful lots to do and lots of fantastic trips. I stayed at the Le Meridien which was excellent.
If you can do Bangkok for 3 days and stay at the Oriental (top 5 hotel in the world) and brilliant, then have 10 days on the beach in Phuket.
If you havent been before the people and place are superb.

if yr going that far, have you considered Vietnam instead?? Awesome place, amazing beaches, cheaper than you could imagine (when we wer there 18 months ago, fab vegetarian dinner & drinks for 6 people for £4!) - (sorry, I used fab & vegetarian in the same sentence - SHAME!). Seriously though, none of the seedier side of Thailand and all the culture, charm, food, sights & beaches you can handle.
just a thought, just in case.

easy fixed..... clothes, shoes & bags shopping in Saigon is some of the cheapest on the planet - her mind will boggle with the number of extra suitacase you'll need to buy (for a fiver each) to fit in all the brand name stuff! Have not yet ventured to Hanoi or the north but I reckon it would be the same if not cheaper.
As hsvgtscoupe said, you've gotta go to Saigon (HCM) at least. I can confirm all that he's said. I've been twice (November last year) and it just gets better. The coast nearby is great too. My son has been working in Saigon for a couple of years and if it was pants, he'd be out of there. Thailand is the perfect complimentary itinery. Enjoy
If you decide to go, I can give some tips in 10 days, after I've slaked the need for speed, skiing in Courchevel
(Too damp to thro the ro about at the mo!)
