Sorry if this has been raised elsewhere - but wondered if any one has any ideas.

My 4.0ltr Chim has been running fine - however over the last couple of weeks it has developed this intermittent problem. If I've been in traffic and the engine temp is high, when you turn off the engine and restart it, it stalls every so often unless you keep the revs really high.......it starts ok - but then stalls again (if I don't switch off the problem doesn't occur). At first I thought it was only happening when it had been raining and there was damp about but the recent fine weather has discounted that theory!

Mine has been doing this a bit recently. Haven't done the stepper motor yet, but my mechanic mate cleaned up something in the air intake, some kind of flap near the "hot wire" (you can see how much I know about this stuff hehe ) and it's been running much better since then.

The coolant temperature sensor can also affect this, may be worth a try.Costs about a tenner.
