another "pic a day" - this one needs of lens help.....
Discussion
Hi all,
My dad hasn't been here much so far this year due to the time pressures of a new job and helping to entertain me.....
Inspired by the various "pic a day" threads mum & dad are taking at least one photo of me each day for the whole of 2007 to see how much I change, and they will all be compiled in a photobox.com (or similar) book. Apparently taking at least one pic a day can be a challenge, but when it's of the same subject that can't even move around yet...
They use the Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 most of the time but dad would like to get a better quality prime lens for my pic's. He rang a local shop earlier for some advice and they strongly recommended the Nikon 85mm 1.8D (136mm when taking into account the digital effect). He thinks the Nikon 50mm 1.4D would be better (80mm equivalent) or perhaps the Sigma 30mm 1.4EX Any thoughts on these or possible alternatives......?
Thanks, Baby Longers

Transfixed by the amazing eyes!!
Cracking shot Daddy!
For mainly portraiture, I'd go for the actual focul lenght of about 80mm, so the 50mm 1.4 would be my choice. 85mm would give you the same effect but from further away. Depends on how close you'll be catching the images from most of the time.
