205 gti core plug

allright gents
got a 1.6 gti engine off fleabay for fifty squid with a crank seal gone.
so i removed the flywheel and noticed a core plug in one of the recess's of the block.had blown out and was just sat there. i've ordered a new one but my question to you is why? why did get blown out?(obviousley pressure)
surely there must be a reason if i pop a new one back in (which is what i hope to do) it wont just pressurize and blow it back out? cos that would tip me over the edge

Never heard of one pop out at all.

Probably one that has been changed due to corrosion and just been badly fitted.

i thought they popped out if the water in the engine froze due to the lack on anti-
freeze but i could be wrong
