Those terriby nice people at design911.co.uk are selling replacement centre caps for alloy wheels:

I'm probably being dim, but do the centre caps come off alloy wheels?? I have these on my Carrera 4:

- and (no sniggering at the back please!!) after seeing these for sale I wondered whether I could align the Porsche shield the right way on all my wheels without having to jack the car up!
Ha ha! I can't believe I'm asking this!! :-D

The Wheel centres lift out with a special tool and can easily be lined up so they all match (if you are that way inclined!) Be careful with the coloured wheel centres - I had all four of mine stolen yesterday furious so no doubt they will be on ebay in the next few days.

Does anyone know if gluing replacements in place would stop me 'loosing' them again? or should I just stick to the cheaper black ones.....?

Have to admit I felt a bit shallow shelling out £120 or whatever is was on coloured caps as an option on my Boxster, but in fairness they do look really good and aren't as subtle of a visual difference as I expected.

Take a small allen key and feed the short end through one of the holes. You can then pull the cap out with ease.

You could patent this clever idea as a wheelspin detector

I've got 4 off a Boxster - £150 for the lot if you're interested

Problem is that after a few miles driving the tiny differences in the circumference of the front and rear tyres pushes them out of line.

Not to mention that as soon as you turn a corner - every wheel (front and rear) travels a different distance anyway and therefore will be out of alignment.

That sounds like a plan!

I heard somewhere that you are 'supposed' to line these up with the valve.
