Hello all,

We're currently with a company called Streamline for taking credit card payments. We do however now require a fully mobile PDQ unit (to be used away from the premises) and looking at Streamline's charges I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of other companies, which may offer lower transactions costs? There isn't much information on the internet regarding merchant machines so I'm not too sure where to look!

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Cheers!

Try through your bank. They should set everything up for you including a good mobile device and the charges should be low. This is I got mine.

We're with streamline, all our terminals are mobile and Streamline put us in touch with 123Send. They work on mobile phone telephony.

If you're a member, contact the FSB, they have good POS terminal rates.

Just thought I would dig this up for other forum members.

Thank you for this advice. I have joined and it looks like I will be saving more than 50% on credit card handling charges, which more than pays for the annual FSB membership.

Just been looking into this myself.

Unit is about £450 to buy instead of a 3 year contract at £22 per month. The £22something is for the rental of the unit + the mobile charges, whilst if you buy the unit it is only £9.99 pm for the data costs.
Transaction on a debit card is 30p flat rate with Stremline, 2% for personal credit cards and 2.5% for business cards.

Looking at getting one in a couple of weeks as i've had enough of cheques.
