though if the tyre quote is through the OPC, you'd be better off shopping around..

costco for types will save about 200 if you like Michelins. Or mytyres / black circles if you don't shop at costco

MOT too and I dont want the agro of waiting to weekend to find tyres as my cars MOT has run out so will be a bit dodgy driving with no MOT.

What was that you were saying to me about the running costs for my 993 after you looked at the blog in my profile, Jamie.....?

I'm sure you can get the tyres MUCH cheaper elsewhere. Try Micheldever - they're in your general neck of the woods and have a reputation for being cheap and good at looking after alloy wheels.

EDIT: Just seen your follow-up comment about MOTs. Oh well - better take plenty of KY Jelly with you when you go back to the OPC to collect the car

Hassle though mate so I have asked them to do. OK I may save a few quid elsewhere on tyres but then I have to MOT it and driving with no MOT is not right. I think it may even invalidate your insurance .

Also supplying your own oil from a place like Costco will save you about £100!

to be honest though - the service isnt 2 grand.

the tyres and header tank are over a grand - plus the MoT, so yeah, your probably still the painful side of 750, but i bet thats for a 48k service - and I do wonder, did you ask for the 'menu service', or whatever it is Soov reccomends?

As long as the MOT is booked, you can drive your car on the road to get the tyres and then on to the MOT test station, even if it's the next day. As long as you have shown intent on getting your car to MOT standard and have the test booked it won't be a problem. Definetly worth it for 200 quid

I had Tyre Plus (01202 473429) on standby for my tyres as I also had the MOT looming. They appeared to be the cheapest local suppliers, but I had about 3mm left so have delayed a bit longer.

How was the 997C2S ?

Very true , service is 500 odd quid I hope. Tyres are 700 odd quid and header tank is 400 quid. I needed wipers too (17 quid) and bulb (25 quid). Plus my psm and abs light keeps coming on but they reckon I dont need this fixed they have just reset it . What's a menu service? On the plus side I have now got the 997 carrera S for 2 days and I booked half day today to try it out. It's amazing, looks the nuts with Turbo alloys on it too. Just off again for a blast.

Car is an absolute gem. 996 doesn't come close. Only thing I miss is the PSE on my 996. Handling is fantastic, it's quicker, feels more solid, brakes are fantastic. What a car driving

Has the turbo alloys on it too.

The service will look cheap if they've got you on the hook for a C2S!!

did that include the coolant?

because my indy charged a good proportion of that to do a coolant change?

I've just dug out the invoice and it was £299.00 + VAT all in including coolant, a new cap and a pressure test paperbag

If I'd known just how easy it was to do I'd have done it myself yes

So what the hell cost me £219.00? scratchchin
