Saw this the other day on Berkeley Square.
I love it, but you'd need big balls to carry this one off.......

I've walked past it a few times, its lovely but not as a day to day car. Nice for Le Mans though

took me a few seconds to realise the squares were shadows from the showroom windows.scratchchin

I was thinking that they look pretty until the penny dropped.

I like it a lot....although as you said Balls of steel come to mind.

Sorry it looks just horrid. For a once a year outing to Le Mans as said probably just about get away with it, but otherwise just horrid.

The only cars that can carry off those colours without looking like a major wannabe are the Porsche 917 and the (original) Ford GT40.

Just doesn't work at all IMHO.

Its not really a wannabe is it? more a homage to the Gulf sponsered Porsches of the past

My other half saw this the other day and (even though she's not a petrol head) recognised the iconic livery and thought it looked really nice. Looks pretty special from this piccy.

Those squares do look nice, dark slate grey with pale grey squares or vice versa would look cool.

I wanted to order my new GT3 in Gulf Blue (special order colour @ £2200), but when my OPC asked the factory they said NO.

But then again, i'm sure if someone chucked enough money at them...

On what basis did they say no ?

I've got to spec my RS in a couple of days and that with Orange decals would IMO look fantastic, if they would do it for 2200 thats only £700 more than my current Green choice

On the subject of colour anybody noticed the speed yellow 997 GT3 in OPC Solihull. Striking to say the least, not one for the shy amongst us.

Porsche dont give reasons, just a point blank NO! May be because it's their own racing colours. I think you'd have to stump up £10000 before they'll even look at doing it.

I think there's a guy on rennlist who went through a lot of trouble trying to get his 997 in Gulf blue. IIRC the reason Porsche refused was problems matching the colour on different body parts. Try a search on "paint to sample" on the 997 forum for the full story.

Their own racing colours? Now that's hilarious. Porsche's racing colour these days is green. I think the shade is called 'dollar-green'. W*nkers.
