alarm flashing 4 times

When I lock the car the indicators flash 4 times. I think they are supposed to flash 3 times.

I set the alarm of by mistake by not closing one of the doors properly.

How do I reset the alarm if that is what needs to be done?

Should be 3 I think.

Mine does 4 and it means one of the sensors has been triggered the last time it was armed. More than likely a faulty one though.

However it says check your bonnet and boot sensors, even though it definately doesn't have a bonnet one.

You can tell from teh LED in the rear screen which sensor went. There is a list in the manual.

i don't have an LED on the rear screen.... i'll have a look in my owners manual and see what it says... it is a later one though, maybe they changed it

Mine have only ever flashed twice when leaving the car and locking the doors/setting the alarm and once when unlocking the car. (2003 4.5)

You're not the only one with alarm issues. Although mine flashes 4 times, it then chatters and chirps until I have to unlock the car. Otherwise it would drive the neighbours crazy.
At the moment until I've found the solution I have to park it unlocked.

Anybody got any thoughts

My 97 4.2 owners manual says 3 flashes when locking, one flash when unlocking.

However - if it's all working OK I'd say don't worry about it?

4 flashes means reset due

mine flashes four times....and is not correct as when i lock the car ..in the morning the car will not start because the engine belives that the car is still immobilised..so if i want the car to start i have to leave the car unlocked at night...anyone got a fix for this...

Ok i think you have to dissarm first then hold down the button on the keyfob for about 9 secs, then run around the car 27 times shouting 'i'm a tea pot' and 'i hate man utd'

Mine flashes four times on locking/closing - once on unlocking/opening. If you get in the car at a leisurely pace after unlocking and then press the black button it will not start. If you then press the fob once whilst sat in the car the car should then give all ignition systems go and then start after the fuel pump has primed. Unless you unlock it jump in the car quick and press the black button immediately within about 10 seconds roughly then iignition systems as normal and it starts. Well mine does ?
