BOV Valve aka Dump valve
Discussion
Hi,i was thinking of purchasing a BOV Valve for my beloved M12.I was wondering
if anyone could recommend where to get a good one from.Im sure there are a few places
that sell them but im wondering which is the best one to get and how much should i expect to pay.
All feedback would be much appreciated lads [and lasses,lol]

I use a HKS SQV with a turbosmart hose adaptor. You've got to cut the inlet hose to fit any type of valve in. Lots of people on here use a forge which is rated well, but get the right spring fitted. It helps the turbos last longer as they don't stall when the throttle closed, you also get better response through the gears (as well as the noise
)

I would prefer a recirc DV, but asked on the forum and knowone has ever replied.
As far as I'm aware there is one as standard (putting my flame proof suit on
) but an aftermarket dump valve does help things along a bit. I've got a Faulks Performance one, which I guess is the most widely used one, with no complaints whatsoever. Martin.
Some guys have had problems with the forge unit having the wrong (or broken) spring as I recall, hopefully someone can fill in the details.
There isn't a DV fitted at all from the factory, you could plumb a recirc one in easily using universal adaptors if you don't like atmospheric ones. As there is the normal noise going on back there, it's no way obtrusive.

One thing I have learnt but can't do it on my 2.5 yet is to take the vac feed from ontop of the engine behind the throttle body (crazy horses can get you the plate i think), it will make it work much better.
