On a Full Tank
Discussion
Hello all, have a question for all you 3200 owners (GTA), would like to know how many miles you get on a full tank as we are thinking of doing a road trip to europe. Since I haven't done any long journey's on motorways yet would be good to get an idea of many times we'd have to fill up. Many Thanks
About 280 miles, mixed A and M roads from kent to cornwall. Although that was before the low fuel came on and they do have BIG reserve tanks. Could probably have done all 320 door to door but as I only use optimax / v power took the oppurtunity to fill up when I came across a shell station.
Edited to add, on motorways just managed approx 23 mpg, for a trip I would do calcs on 16mpg.

Tank is 90 litres, light comes on when 22-23 remain. Reckon similar 300 miles until light comes on driving with some care. Averaged 23 mpg on my commute to work 75 miles mainly M11.
Driving in convoy, on the continent, on a driving holiday
expect fuel light on at 225 miles (av 15mpg).

i know this because a few weeks ago when a bit hungover i drove around on fumes and suffered the consequences. it died very quickly, i.e. within 2 seconds, no splutter and drive for 5 miles, it stopped dead.
i normally end up filling up around 180-200 miles to be safe, i always get 12-14mpg.
