Hi all,
Had the s2 since about sept - still love it. Have refurbed the door pannels, they look great, put in a blaupunkt stereo, fitted new gaz shocks, and had a shiney new gear knob. All was fine and dandy untill i got confident enough to take the mrs to Ludlow in it, on the way home next day (full of cold and hung over) it lurched to an abrupt halt. There seemed to be no electrics, the ignition sequence was gone.
Checked fuses - wasnt them. Rumaged around in the passenger footwell, put it back, and it started again and ran fine all the way home. As it had been out all night i put it down to damp, but it did it exectly the same again at the weekend, is it damp? is it normal(ish) or could it be something more sinister? It hadnt done it previously even after being left out the odd night.
Also, now i have the new radio - how the hell do i remove the old ariel? it was a rubber "kosh" type thing, but has broken off - i keep twisting the bugger but it dont seem to get any looser! any ideas please?

Check up under the steering wheel shroud for a big plastic connector, they break down, I too had the same problem as you and bypassing the connector did the trick, no idea about your ariel, sorry.

On mine there is an 8mm nut underneath that needed to be loosened off, that did the trick. Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
