Im fitting a new cam at the weekend. I have the old one out and its completely rounded off did manage 117K tho...

Ive got a composite valley gasket, when putting back together do i use gasket sealer on the sump gasket, timing cover, and inlet it looks like its had splodges on before but just wanna make sure.

one more thing ive just noticed the inlet manifold bolts are different lengths, can anyone tell me where they go...

Thanks

Quinny,

After having a butchers at your exceptional rebuild article on the Griff pages, can I ask what documentation you used for torqu values etc? I have found some PDFs that cover the 3.9 and 4.2. Do you think these would be OK for a 500?

Many thanks,

Nick

Thanks Quinny, that's belting. Head torque is what I'm really concerned with. Do you recommend a stealth cam then? If you had an aftermarket, mappable ECU, would you have stuck with a 404 do you think?
