I must admit I keep looking out for a front end damaged one, I can just see the comedy of a v8 in the front of a prius!

Should upset a few greenies!

Wouldn't think it would be an issue, petrol engine may have more torque but not ultra low rev torque of an electric motor.
Reckon it would be an awesome 'Q' car and big V to Red Ken.
Is the MOT different for a hybrid though? Surely there must be some checks on the electric side of things.
Must be possible to make even the electric bit quicker with more powerfull alternator perhaps.
Scrap the batteries and use engine as generator maybe? It works for trains afterall and they have 1000s of HP.

Thanks, it's a no go then, it's all so tightly integrated. Might be able to add a small turbo though to the existing engine, that would be interesting. The dash display is dependant on the computer too.

There is a hell of a lot to go wrong with one, more scope for serious wallet eating repairs than even an S class or 911.

here is a lot of links regarding super/turbo charging a prius
