Is there any difference between pre booking & just turning up? I want the flexibility to just turn up at 2 am and get the GT3 on the train.

if you pre-book you will get a lower price, sometimes significantly. Also, if you have pre-booked, yohave a time window of +/- 2hours to get a train i.e a 4 hour window.

Also try some of the travel agents/brokers; Travel Destinations is a fave of mine, call them 01707 329988. Not always cheapest but the tickets tend to be more flexible than the online restricted fares.

With a GT3 insist on going on the lower deck to avoid the entry and exit ramps (caught the 996TT lower front spoiler on an exit ramp once). They should put you there anyway.

This won't need organising when you book, just when the tunnel staff are directing you onto the trains.
