Anybody know anything about the Suzuki Capuccino?
Discussion
Posting on behalf of my Dad - he nearly bought one a while back but is looking again. Are there are any online resources / forums for them? His membership of SCOR has lapsed but he'll be joining again.
We know the big gotcha is rust but anything else to look out for? Where's a good place to find them for sale?

Well I've been trying to sell mine for what seems like ages now. So many time wasters just coming along (I subsequently make sure its spotless of course), taking it for a drive, then its 'I'll get back to you.
Women seem to be the worst. They think because it looks nice, wee and cute its for them. The they realise there's a lack of boot space (shopping), mirrors (obvious), not easy to get in / out of (high sills) and just generally needs to be treated like the proper (minature) sports car it is, ie. fling it about like your clio there missus and you'll be facing backwards.....
Sorry, had to get all my frustration out..... And breath.
They are brilliant little cars though, handles better than any MR2 I've ever owned (4 off), reliable, get one with the sills and arches fixed (like mine - don't bother looking for one thats never been touched, they very rarely exist, this stuff will either have been fixed or will need fixing, they have a bad rep for this as you know) and a decent engine and your laughing (mostly round corners)
Any other Q's I can help with give me a shout
Cheers, Ross

Yeah, distance seems to be the problem in selling it. I'm thinking of relocating it to Edinburgh to the GF's flat till I get her sold..... Although you'd think there being virtually none for sale in Scotland would mean she would get snapped up...?
O well, must be asking too much, looks like I'll have to drop the price again, it's coming into summer aswell...

I've been looking at your car but the high insureance for what it is have put me off. Whats the cheapest way to insure these things?
Nicecuppa, I emailed your dad back a while ago re: my capp. I was very honest I think, a bit too much in fact I feel, probably scared him off !!
Sold anyhoo for a bargain price to a trader from down south, but can't believe what he is now asking for it; 40% mark-up seems crazy.....! Somebody will pay it though seeing this good weather.
Hope you dad finds the right car.
Cheers

Cheers Ross - I think he appreciated your honesty and wasn't worried by it. You're right, it's a hell of a risk buying a car unseen and due to circumstances at the moment he can't really travel or spend much time away from home. Looked like a fabulous car, just the distance prevented him from coming to have a look.
It wasn't this guy in the Midlands you sold it to was it? He seems to be buying up 2 or 3 a week!

No he is based some where in Yorkshore I believe. Funny looking back on it with his funny trader speak "O its for the wife, might keep it for a year then think about selling it". My ar*e, bought on Sunday, on the web on Monday...hehe
Have you tried: score.org.uk and also clubcappo.co.uk, more likely to get a solid car from here, but as you said still a bit of a risk, especially as most are getting on a bit now...
