New Road tax

Is this going to be an issue for Ultima owners or are the pre 1975 blocks not measured for co levels?

The tax covers co levels for type approved vehicles from 2001 onward so my interpretation is that no Ultima, even with say an LS7, will fall into that bracket for tax. It will be classed Private/light goods over 1549cc and be £180.
Even if a certain emissions level is set for SVA and MOT testing (based on the engine year) it will not affect the tax.

Yep I agree with Steve. I have just been looking the cost up as I am about to tax mine for the beginning of April.

Also, its only 2001 and later for all cars, so a 10ltr hummer that does 4 to the gallon - year 2000 - is not seen as a problem! - greener than a new M3 for example.........

i think the classic car market has become a lot more attractive!

Look on your V5, and under the Taxation class if it says PLG... that means your taxed on the normal levels...

If it says Petrol or Diesel then thats when you get taxed on Emissions levels, and yes it started in early 2001......

Oh yes and American Imports are Exempt, because my late 2001 Vette was a PLG....
