Command & Conquer Red Alert 3
Discussion
I am aware this is due for release on the 30th of March (next Friday) on PC and I would imagine the 36 version should not be far behind. Anyone going to be getting this?
I certainly will be. I was a huge fan or the original C&C Red Alert, the second version was a total let down and so I have high hopes for this.
Hope to be having some battles with a few of you before long.

Yep. On order, too. And Stalker should have arrived by now.
Shame I've got no graphics card ATM. I sold my 1950XT to my brother. Anybody know where I can get a cheap 8800GTX?

How demanding do you think this game will be?
Athlon 2500, 2gb DDR, nvidia 7600GT and it works fine
I also have this on order, and went for the Kane Edition (it would be rude not to). I had a quick play through the demo and enjoyed it. Let's face it - it's never going to be the same as the original C&C and RA games, but it looks like a lot of effort has gone into re-establishing the old C&C feel, rather than trying to follow up Generals.

edit to add - I think the OP might be mistaken. a quick google for "Red Alert 3" didn't turn up anything more recent than a veiled reference from one of the Westwood team in 2004, and some kind of mod for Zero Hour :-(
further edit to add - I literally just got an email confirming my copy of C&C3 has shipped! With luck it may arrive tomorrow morning

My best is Amazon. They always dispatch a the evening or day before release so that on the 30th... poof... one copy of CnC appears through your door.
I went for the Bently edition of the game but poverty spec delivery... it'll be here soon or later

I can vouch for Ganeplay, mine arrived at 7.30 this morning! I know what I'll be mostly doing today

I have played the tutorial and intro level, and so far it's a bit... well... underwhelming. The graphics are obviously better but no better than the Commando series of games. The gameplay isn't massively different so far (which I suppose is a good thing). So we shall see..
Pretty spot on. Got it tuesday, about half way through now; graphics are nice, gameplay is identical to before, including the fecking annoying 'you've got 2 blokes, you've got to kill 3 armies with them, with out losing either of them. Oh and as soon as you get seen you die.' missions that C&C specialises in. Managed to do one of them after about 10 tries; as soon as the next one like that came up, I went to bed(given that, the 2nd one does seem to be easier; got it about 90% complete before getting killed; the 1st mission I'd get about a third into int then restart as I was obviously going to loose my base).
On the other hand, annoying limited resources missions aside(about a third of them!), it is definitely nicer to play than Supreme Commander(which will have more longevity), and less demanding on the hardware front. Probably because you use fewer units.

It's not a Red Alert game, it's C&C 3: Tiberian Wars.
