What are the potential problems with running a higher milage 355, ie 35k and above. With the previous cars that I've owned milage has been of little importance compared with maitainance and care of the previous owners. In fact very low milage cars I viewed mostly needed work and servicing with niggling electrical and mechanical faults from lack of use. My current 328 GTS has 47k and runs beautifully.
Are there any potential nasties with running a well cared-for but well used 355. Cheers.

The only potential problem is when you come to sell it and everyone seems to think 10k miles on an 8+ yr old car is sensible.

Like your 328, they get better with use and with miles (having driven one from 10k to 42k miles I can personally vouch for that). As long as the servicing has been done and the car looked after.

Phenomenal cars.

Don't believe the mileage on most of them anyway. Check the condition with a magnifying glass and the service history bills with a microscope!

My own has 46k miles and will stand up with any other 355 out there. Never caused me a days real problem. Still has the original headers which are in first class condition as well as the original valves which still give great compresion.
And in looks it stands above most so called high milage 355s that you can find.
Look at that baby for a 46k mile brute

Any excuse for a pic
Mine is at a whopping 38k miles so I guess that is a massive 3500 miles / year, which seems to be enough to keep it healthy

Fortunately I'm not one of those people. When I buy my Ferrari I'll be looking for something with circa 40K miles on it so I can benefit from the better health of a well-exercised car combined with the lower price!

Yep my 355 has 34k miles, Ive put nearly 7k miles on it 9 mths. Everytime I get in it I drive it like I stole it, nothing has gone wrong with it and it keeps ticking over beautifully.

As above these cars seemed to go well when driven.

From this the 328's time may be up. Purely for practical reasons of course, at 6'1" I find the 328 a bit tight and that seems a good enough reason to change, however now to persuade she who must be obeyed.
