Bonnet stay fitted

I fitted my new bonnet stay this evening. I finally threw away that useless excuse for a bonnet stay.
I used a combination of ideas that I saw on here, plus some help from a mate who I used to work with, who made me a little UJ out of brass. Must have taken him hours!
8mm anodised ally bar (B&Q). I turned the centre bracket 90 deg so the plate is facing upwards. The UJ must run horizontal behind the plate to clear the exhaust. Finally, I moved the clip to the other side of the bonnet so that the stay clears the swirl tank and air flow sensor plug.(Why didn't TVR do that?)

Sounds great Craig. Glad we've inspired you to have a go.
Now you've got the UJ you'll find loads of other places to park the stay with the bonnet up too.
Try sitting it on the water pump for one. In fact, if you can get your hands on a metal version of a wiring P clip you can attach it to the top water pump bolt and the stay parks neatly into it and completely out of your way when you're working in the bay. Better still, get that talented mate of yours to make a clip for it
