03my Boxster S smoke on startup!?

Hi All,

First week of ownership with a facelift 03my boxster, its my gf daily drive and weekend fun for us both. Always see her off in the morning, watched her start it again this morning and noticed some blue smoke on start up! first time i've seen it all week! Is it something to be concerned about?
Car has full PSH and has done 55k, runs sweet as etc!
Bit worried! (no warranty!)

You will notice that the car smokes a little on startup - particularly if left for a few days. Its a consequence of the Boxer engine design I'm told. Mine does it occasionally if I've left it.

If the smoke doesn't stop after the engine has had a few seconds to clear itself then you should worry - not otherwise. If it starts using a lot of oil then consider getting it checked.

Your car is most likely just fine.

it may need an engine breather as it will probably be restricted and can cause smoking at first and then progresses to smoke while driving too !

if its just a couple of seconds as it clears forget about it .....they all do it from time to time.
