Who's your money on this weekend?

Going with Rossi, he was fastest in the previous test at Jerez and with the shorter straight at jerez compared to Qatar the Ducati's shouldn't have too much of an advantage.

I posted the fastest top speeds at Jerez during that test here - www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=361683&f=74&h=0

You sure about that?

Good point, pherhaps the Yamaha engineers had better get back to the drawing board!!

I've read that the Ducati now use a 'screamer' firing order and that Yamaha uses a reverse crank and big bang firing order which reduces power at the rear wheel but helps the bike through the turns... looking like power could rule over handling?

I think in overall laptime Rossi might have it but in a race you need to be able to overtake and more speed will always help, then just blockpass and take the racing line, just like Casey did in Qatar. Even the last corner at Jerez which has always seen last lap overtaking might be too much if Rossi was following a Ducati out of the Nieto and Peluqui corners as I think in the 800's it will be flat all the way to Ducados and that's a run just as long as the front and back straights.

I think Hopkins could be a good outside bet for a podium.

Rossi should win, Yamaha really won't like being beaten by Ducati.

Think Pedrosa could well be up there too.

It'll be interesting to see if he can replicate it tomorrow, it will be a helluva turn around after last year.

Good luck! you'll need it!

Not sure what happens to Edwards as he always seems to have good pace through the weekend and then fades in the race confused wanna see the guy on the podium though.. same for Hopkins too, can't believe he's not been on the podium yet with his pace
