oil preasure sender

any ideas on what to do about replacing the oil preasure sender - rt racing say they are out of stock - rpi couldn't supply one with the new base plate - i assume smiths , ispro etc etc will give readings that are rubbish

There seem to be various oil pressure transmitters..

It might be easier to source it from TVR Car Parts..

I tried an SDi sender on my first 350i and found it wasn't compatible with the gauge. So I had to stick the SDi guage on top of the square centre console for a bit - I just wanted to check that the pressure was correct in different driving conditions (it wasn't far off).

So I think the TVR sender is different, but I've never checked out exactly why.

Be careful you don't over-tighten the sender when installing, being hollow brass the thread is easy to snap off. Best to use some PTFE tape.

My 390 has VDO gauges - so I bought a VDO sender.

It worked out of the box.

Took the ring connector off mine at the weekend (Gauge hasn't worked from day 1 with the car) cleaned it up and now working great....

Where exactly is the sender on a 350i I think mines playing up now?
