New member here! I was just browsing and wondered if there's anybody on here who knows the whereabouts of the 81 XJR100s. My dad who passed away eighteen months ago was a motoring correspondent for Autocar and What Car magazines and we ran XJR100 Reg number BX51 ZFB for just over two years (he had a nice little arrangement with Jaguar).

The car was part of the Jaguar fleet when we had it and it was used in all the publicity shots for the launch. When it left our custody at around 40 thousand miles we believe it was sold into the trade although we had it on good authority a number of people at Browns Lane had their eye on buying it. I'd just be interested to know if anybody has encountered it or knows a way I could perhaps find it. This car holds a lot of memories for me and I have some great stories regarding its history. To be quite honest i'd be more than willing to make an offer to bring it back home. All help gratefully appreciated.

I forgot to mention that whilst it was an XJR100, it had a "grey" history in that badges had been altered, strange trim levels imposed on it etc. It was a condition of it coming to reside with us that the XJR100 badge be removed and a standard XJR badge put on in its place! It was known as "The Stick" at Browns Lane due to the fact that it spent most of its early life hammering around Europe with various PR blokes in it.

Hi Tom, interesting story, good luck with your search. Have you thought of asking the Jaguar clubs if you can put a small article in their club magazines? Plus www.jaglovers.org has lots of jag enthusiasts who might be able to help. There was also someone on here recently that had done a bit of research into XJR100's when he bought his, i'm sure he'll be along soon to tell.
They are certainley beautifull cars, and is firmly on my 'to own' list.
