Software upgrades for the nüvi 660 were released on 5 Mar 07 and for the nüvi 360 on 14 Mar 07. Also, there is new firmware now available for the relevant TMC receivers.

For more info., see www.garmin.com/support/download.jsp

Still no North arrow for the nüvi 660 though.....

I have just spotted this too.

I bought a Nuvi 660 last weekend (thanks Halfords for matching web prices clap) . Could anyone advise how to get the updates to the speed camera database; I have registered the unit with Garmin, bet cannot find out how to update?

Thanks for your help.

Go here and set your account up...
https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customers/myGarminHome.faces

Third option on "your" home page (myGarmin) is camera database - you get 90 days free from the date you download the first one.

Also download their Webupdater applet - this connects your PC & 660 60 and then connects with Garmin's website ans scand your specific unit for anything that needs updating.

You need to access https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customers/myGarminHome.faces and create an account. Then just plug the nüvi into your USB socket and follow the prompts under Safety Camera Subsription.

The easiest way to obtain any systme software or firmware updates is to use Garmin's WebUpdater program.

On a related note, you can get the latest version of MapSource (City Navigator Europe NT v9) if you bought your satnav after the update was released

Am I entitled to a free update?

If you purchased a locked MapSource product ON or AFTER the release date of an update, you are entitled to an unlock on the newer version of that product for free. Please see details.

www.garmin.com/unlock/update.jsp

You get sent a DVD with the latest software free of charge thumbup

Thanks to all for your advice, I have downloaded all the latest software upgrades - but even though I have registered for the free trial of the speed camera database, I could not see anything new.
1. How often is the camera database updated?
2. Given that I have registered for Webupdater, will camera changes download automatically? If not could you bear with me (I'm usually OK with IT, but not with Garmin) and put an idiot-proof step by step guide to get new camera positions?

Thanks for your help - it was the good reports of the Nuvi 660 here that made me buy it over Tom Tom.

Version 3.60 software for the nüvi 660 was released on 27 Mar 2007. No particularly significant changes though - unless you happen to speak Lithuanian.
